In the fall of 2009, Pastor Dave Schlagel accepted the call to be the senior pastor at Marquette Manor Baptist Church. Before coming to Marquette, Pastor Schlagel served as associate pastor at Westgate Baptist Church in Tigard, Oregon, for six years. Prior to Westgate, he served as a Christian school administrator and as a Bible college dean.
Pastor Schlagel is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and holds graduate degrees from Stanford University and Bob Jones University. He was an officer in the Navy’s submarine force for many years before sensing God’s call to full-time Christian ministry. Pastor Schlagel and his wife, Becky, both grew up in rural Minnesota. Pastor and Becky have six children: Sarah, Mark, Hannah, Paul, Esther, and Joanna.
Pastor Estep grew up in a Christian home and accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 5. In 2002, he graduated from Baptist College of Ministry with a B.A. in Bible. While in Bible College, he was heavily involved in youth ministry, teaching Sunday School, directing a youth group society, and traveling on youth ministry teams.
Pastor Estep and his wife Bethany came to Marquette Manor Baptist Church in the fall of 2004. During this time he interned as director of the youth ministry, and in the fall of 2005 he officially became the youth pastor. Pastor Estep and Bethany have five children: Joanna, Lloyd Carter, Nathan, Alyssa, and Makayla.
