Meet Our Pastors

Dave Schlagel, Senior Pastor

On September 12, 2009, Pastor Dave Schlagel accepted the call to be the Senior Pastor at Marquette Manor. Pastor Schlagel and his wife Becky have six children: Sarah, 23; Mark, 22; Hannah, 20; Paul, 18; Esther, 14; and Joanna, 10.

For the past six years, Pastor Schlagel was the Associate Pastor at Westgate Baptist Church in Tigard, Oregon. Previous to his ministry at Westgate, Pastor Schlagel served as Dean of Baptist College of Ministry. He also has experience as a Christian school principal and administrator.

Pastor Schlagel grew up in rural Minnesota and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1980 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  He received a master’s degree from Stanford University a year later. While in the Navy he was active in the local church as a layman, serving as a deacon, children’s church director, and adult Sunday School teacher.

When the Lord called Pastor Schlagel and Becky into full-time Christian ministry, he enrolled at Bob Jones University, where he earned master’s and specialist degrees in Educational Administration, as well as studying Bible, theology, and biblical languages.

His wife, Becky, has been actively involved in local church ministries, including evangelistic outreach, teaching adult ladies’ Bible study classes, discipling, counseling, and mentoring both teen and adult ladies in the church.

Lloyd Estep, Assistant/Youth Pastor back to top

Pastor Estep grew up in a Christian home and accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 5. In 2002, he graduated from Baptist College of Ministry with a B.A. in Bible. While in Bible College, he was heavily involved in youth ministry, teaching Sunday School, directing a youth group society, and traveling on youth ministry teams.

Pastor Estep and his wife Bethany came to Marquette Manor Baptist Church in the fall of 2004. During this time he interned as director of the youth ministry, and in the fall of 2005 he officially became the youth pastor. Pastor Estep and Bethany have two children, Joanna and Lloyd Carter.
