Adult Ministries

Sunday School

There is a Sunday school class for everyone at Marquette Manor Baptist Church.

Bereans

Geared towards spiritually mature believers who desire an in-depth study of the Bible, the Bereans class either explores various books of the Bible and or completes pertinent character studies. The children of the adults in the Berean class are generally grown and out of the home.

Friendship

This class offers a place for those who are also mature spiritually. Many still have older children at home or in college and desire a more challenging study of the Bible.

Foundations

This class helps young couples settle into life with their spouse. It also helps parents of younger children juggle their time with family, children, work and ministry.

Ladies

Designed to encourage women and help them live a God-honoring life, this class is for single women, widows, and women whose husbands may not attend church.

College & Career

This class is dedicated to college students and career-orientated singles out of college, helping them make right choices for their future in serving the Lord. This class is geared toward preparing single believers for their future and making their lives count for God, despite the pressures of today’s culture!

Young Believers

New members and new believers who wish to form a solid foundation of God’s Word find this class extremely helpful. Subjects covering salvation, baptism, Bible study, and witnessing are instrumental in helping the new believer to grow spiritually.

Golden Heirs Activity

Golden Heirs

This ministry provides periodic activities during the daytime for our Senior Citizens. Many seniors have enjoyed these opportunities to get together and visit various attractions in the greater Chicagoland area.

For Ladies

Moms and Tots

Designed for mothers with young children, our Moms & Tots activities are exciting times for mothers and their preschool age children. Various trips have included visits to Jumps and Jiggles, the Morton Arboretum, and Kuipers Family Farm for pumpkin picking.

Ladies Meetings

Held throughout the year, these meetings provide wonderful opportunities for our ladies to grow spiritually and be encouraged in their walk with the Lord.

For Men (back to top)

Prayer breakfasts, retreats, and special activities provide structure for spiritual growth and opportunities to fellowship regularly with other men.

Men for Missions

As needed, MMBC sends work teams to provide construction services for Shepherds Bethel in West Baden Springs, Indiana, and Camp Joy in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Men meet weekly on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. in the church auditorium for prayer, followed by breakfast.

Men’s Basketball

Men meet weekly September through May on Monday evenings at 8:30 in the gymnasium to play basketball, and a brief Bible challenge is also given.

Men’s Softball

The softball league is comprised of local area churches with games played weekly mid-May through August on Monday evenings.

Retreats

MMBC holds an annual Men’s Retreat in October at Camp Joy in Whitewater, Wisconsin. These retreats have proven to be a time of edification and encouragement for those who attend.

Reformer’s Unanimous

Reformers Unanimous is a Christ-centered addictions program that directs the intemperate back to God’s support group, the local church. No matter what addiction or “stronghold” you are dealing with, God has the answer. We meet at 7:00 each Friday night in the church auditorium. Come hear stories of changed lives, and gain direction through great teaching. All are welcome.

The Timothy Institute (back to top)

Marquette Manor Baptist Church is excited to be able to help pastors and laymen become better equipped for the ministry through the Timothy Institute, a virtual classroom made available via satellite from Bob Jones University.

The Timothy Institute began as a way to fulfill Pastor Canedy’s burden to train up young men to be the new generation of Fundamental leaders in the local church. Today, it gathers young men, pastors, laymen, and deacons together for training from qualified professors. Under the direction of Pastor Canedy, Dr. Kent Ramler, former Bob Jones University professor and associate pastor at MMBC, acts as moderator in the classroom and liaison with the University.

We invite all serious Bible students to further their education, so that in turn they might be able to teach others also (II Timothy 2:2).
