Sunday School (9:15-10:15)Marquette has age-appropriate Sunday School classes for children 3 years old through the sixth grade. Filled with Bible stories, activities, and practical lessons for today’s child, Sunday School provides a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn God’s Word and be nurtured in the ways of the Lord.
During the Sunday morning service, two Children’s Church services are held—one for four year olds and another for K5-3rd grade children. Run by caring leaders with a love for the Lord Jesus Christ, these times are jam-packed with exciting stories, songs, activities, and important Bible lessons aimed at helping children know God personally and live a life pleasing to Him.
Marquette Manor Baptist Church provides a nursery during each service for infants to 3 year olds. The nursery facilities are properly supervised by trained and qualified workers and are open 15 minutes before services.
Awana (back to top)Designed to minister to the children of our church and community, Awana is a structured, fun-filled program that teaches godly character, teamwork, and discipline through Bible memorization, exciting activities, and counsel time.
The Awana program is held 7:00 to 8:30 Wednesday evenings mid-September through mid-May and is available for children ages 3 through the sixth grade. There are special activities throughout the year including the Grand Prix, which allows clubbers to make their own race car out of a block of wood. In the spring, a special hike is planned for the Sparkies group (K5-2nd grade).
The 2008-2009 Awana year will begin Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
There is a minimal annual cost of $35 per child with a maximum of $75 per family. The fee includes the handbook and any awards achieved (pins/trophies).
Our hope and prayer is that through this ministry all the club members will accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Designed for mothers with young children, our Moms & Tots activities are exciting times for mothers and their preschool age children. Various trips have included visits to Jumps and Jiggles, the Morton Arboretum, and Kuipers Family Farm for pumpkin picking.

Each summer Marquette Manor Baptist Church hosts Neighborhood Bible Time. NBT is designed to minister to children and teens in the church and community as an outreach to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For one week, (Sunday through Friday) children and teens in the greater Downers Grove area join us for Bible stories, missionary stories, games and competition, songs, memory verses, and a host of activities.
Kidz Korner is an outreach ministry for children K5–8th grade. Come and enjoy songs, Bible stories, craft time, missionary story time, special themed nights, activities and even snacks on special occasions!

Founded by several church members who had a desire and burden to work with children, Kidz Korner began at The Ponds, an apartment community located in Westmont. The ministry began with a small group of children and has continually grown. The children learn about morality, ethics, responsibility and attentiveness through Bible studies and missionary stories. Kidz Korner is a wonderful time for children of all ethnic backgrounds and religions to learn the truth from God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Led by adults whose professions range from education to business, the children are in contact with responsible adult role models whom they can emulate and trust. Kidz Korner provides a stable setting for children to safely ask questions and receive educated answers about the Bible and life.
Our goal is to proclaim the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ and teach God’s Word. Our teaching establishes a biblical foundation for children to make right choices in their teen and adult years so they can make a positive impact in society.
