Ministries > Music
The music of Marquette Manor Baptist Church exists to praise God and edify saints.
Our choir weekly presents music reflecting God’s nature and challenges the listener in both the Sunday morning and evening services. Practice weekly is Sunday from 5:00–5:45 p.m. and Sunday morning 9:00-9:15 a.m. Additionally, the choir presents Christmas and Easter Cantatas. A choir clinic is presented every fall to develop the collective and individual vocal abilities of our choir. Any MMBC member with a pleasant voice and a sense of calling may join the choir.
Occasionally, our orchestra accompanies our choir. Other ministry opportunities include offertories or prelude music. Any MMBC member with at least modest instrumental experience can play in our song service orchestra. To develop orchestral abilities, we host the Sforzando String Camp every summer.
The ministry of offertories and specials prior to the message are very important. Offertories are usually done by keyboardists and instrumentalists with presentations ranging from full orchestra to solos by orchestra members. For specials, choir members minister as soloists and in groups, along with families and occasional men’s and ladies’ choruses. Our graded choir program also includes a children’s choir and the CENTURIONS, a teen ensemble.
